Run Like a Salmon at Free 5K in Portland
July 16, 2007
There’s a free and very creative 5K run happening on August 4.
It sounds so wacky that I may have to do it. I wonder how well I can run and take pictures at the same time.
The 3rd Annual Swim Like Hell 5k is set for Saturday, August 4!
What and Why: A FREE 5k run up SE Salmon Street from the Willamette River to the Mt. Tabor Reservoir - source to source - in empathy of the struggle of Pacific Salmon. Along the way, there will be many obstacles preventing runners from reaching their destination. Some will be caught in fishing nets. Many will get dizzy by being forced to spin around in circles as if they are going through the turbines of a dam. Most will be appalled by being forced to drink uncomfortably warm water. All will have fun.
Who: Not a runner? No worries! We need your help to catch and slow down runners.
